Howard J. Reynolds was an elderly Gainesville local and one of the first band mascots Less Than Jake ever had. He recorded three monologues: Yom Kippur, which was released on Losing Streak (its final sentence was part of Automatic, where he said "This is the old dude: Howard J. Reynolds, and you're listening to Less Than Jake!"), and Dirty Olympics and Newspaper Crap, that were released on a promo CD: Howie J. Reynolds Spoken Word.
