Coffee Project is a Gainesville, Florida band formed in 2007 by Jake Crown (Rehasher/Savage Brewtality) and Buddy Schaub (Less Than Jake).
History[]
Coffee Project formed in 2007 when mutual friends Jake Crown and Buddy Schaub began writing songs during the downtime between their other projects and jobs.[1] After recording some demos in Schaub's home studio that ranged in styles from punk rock to acoustic songs featuring trombone melodies, the band began to play some shows in the Gainesville area. It was there that they realized they only needed to remain as a duo and decided on the acoustic format.[1]
After retooling several songs, the band eventually released 8 songs on the Easy Does It 10" record through Paper + Plastick in January of 2009.[2] The 2 song Pickle digital EP followed in June also released on Paper + Plastick.
In 2010 the band released their first full length release Moved On through Paper + Plastick. With Less Than Jake taking an extended break from touring in 2010, Coffee Project was able to embark on their first tour with Greenland is Melting and Blacklist Royals.[3]
In 2012 the band released their farewell album Leftovers through Paper + Plastick. They played their last show at Fest XI.
